Clinical Psychologist (Specialty Program Coordinator - Challenge)

Functions as a Specialty Program Coordinator for the Challenge Program, high security inmates with antisocial attitudes and behaviors, substance abuse, and/or mental illness. Responsible for the provision of highly-skilled professional services and serves as a resource person to other psychologists, staff members, and operating officials. Responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the specialty treatment program and for coordinating and evaluating all activities within the specialty treatment program. Responsible for initiating a treatment program and for implementing and monitoring the treatment program in compliance with BOP policy.Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis. Basic Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.AND In addition to the basic requirements, you must have:
Education:
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.
Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of the qualifying experience are:
Experience in the administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological instruments and procedures which address the problems associated with high security inmates with antisocial attitudes and behaviors, substance abuse, and/or mental illness. Experience in developing suitable program and treatment contracts for individual inmates, and having full professional responsibility and oversight for their psychological treatment plans. Experience in assessing individual performance, participation, and completion of programs in each phase of the specialized treatment unit including developing new instruments to assess the target population as part of the on-going evaluation. Experience in developing, evaluating and coordinating residential and nonresidential treatment program and for designing individual treatment plans. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
